At TLC Space, we understand that some challenges require a more intensive, specialist approach. Our Summer 2026 intervention groups are designed for children who need more targeted support.
1. The Food & Eating Group: A Sensory Journey
This group is designed for children with a very limited range of accepted foods or high anxiety around mealtimes. Through gentle, sensory-based food exploration and gradual exposure in a no-pressure environment, we help children move from fear to curiosity while building confidence with food.
For Children: Playful sensory exploration and step-by-step exposure to new foods.
For Parents: A teaching session on day one with practical strategies, the reasons behind food refusal, and tools for calmer family mealtimes.
Important:
• Children are screened before booking to ensure the group is the right fit.
• Full attendance is required, as each session builds on the previous one.
Dates: 4th – 6th August 2026
Ages: 4–6 years | Time: 9:30 am – 11:00 am
2. The DCD & Coordination Group: Mastering Movement
Designed for children with diagnosed or suspected Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), or those who struggle with motor planning and sequencing. This group focuses on the “how-to” of movement, helping children feel more confident and in control of their bodies.
For Children: Structured therapeutic activities to build motor planning, coordination, and sequencing skills.
For Parents: A specialist teaching session on day one with practical strategies to support motor tasks and build confidence at home.
Dates: 18th – 20th August 2026
Ages: 8–12 years | Time: 9:30 am – 11:00 am
3. Getting Ready for School
Designed for children who are starting school and may need a little extra support with the transition. This group focuses on building the key skills that help children feel confident and prepared for the classroom, including following routines, managing transitions, developing independence with self-care, and supporting attention and regulation for learning.
Dates: 26th–28th August 2026
Ages: 4-5 years | Time: 9:30 am – 11:00 am
Cost: £80 per child, per day
Led by specialist Occupational Therapists in a therapeutic setting. We don’t just work with your child; we empower you as a parent through dedicated teaching time.
With such small groups, your child receives a level of attention similar to a 1-to-1 session but with the added benefit of peer modeling.
